The state’s capital is Columbia and had a population of 116,278 according to the 2000 census (2007 population estimates put the city at 124,818). Economy
In 2004 South Carolina gross state product was $136 billion, which was provided by some of the states many agricultural and industrial products. Tobacco, poultry, cattle, dairy and soy are some of the agricultural products coming out of South Carolina. Some of the industrial products include paper and chemical products, automobiles and textile goods.
